CYBER ALERT SERVICE

Cyber Alert Service (CAS), an effort of NR3C-FIA, serves to spread public awareness about Cyber Crime via SMS. It delivers preventive tips / measures to counter electronic crime, which has hit the society like a menace. Messages sent through this service advise the general public not to fall prey to fake/fraud lottery scams, online banking frauds. This service also disseminates tips, which are useful in safeguarding your personal devices and online accounts such as Facebook, E-mails and Twitter. The service has been appreciated by the general public as it leverages them to get hold of the Cyber Crime preventive tips over an SMS.

• Beware of false SMS regarding lottery schemes / Benazir Income Support Program prize offers. They are all false.
• Benazir Income Support Program does not offer cash rewards. All such messages are false. Do not fall prey to them.
• All click to earn money SMS or click to earn website offers are false. Do not fall prey to them.
• Beware of messages/call regarding winning a car prize. They are all false.
• Beware of Lottery/Prize schemes SMS asking you to deposit processing fees in a bank account or through easy paisa. They are all False.
• Never trust and reply anonymous emotional SMS that (Allah Rasool k wastay ma musibat mai hun Rs.100 ka balance transfer ker do) they are all traps.
• Always keep a difficult password for your email or online account. Regularly change to prevent hacking.
• Beware. SMS, email or ads regarding earning money by clicking on website are traps. Dont fall prey to them.
• Never give information of your online bank account password and pin through SMS or Email.
• Beware. Do not upload personal pictures on facebook. They can be modified or misused.
• Never install cracked version of any software. It may contain malicious code for hacking your system.

• Memorize 3 digits CVV number at the back of your master/visa card and scratch it out to prevent misuse.
• Ensure all your bank transactions are intimated to you via SMS to prevent fraud.
• Update your antivirus software to help protect your computer against possible infection.
• Never Open Suspicious Emails; Opening Them May Cause System Damage.
• Dont Accept Offers of "Free PC Scans" That Pop up When You Use the Internet. They are Traps.
• Only Use Trusted Wi-Fi When Connecting to the Internet. Cybercriminals can Create Fake Hotspots from Which to Steal Your Data.
